About Me

CERTIFIED PILATES MAT INSTRUCTOR

LAURA STEER

Hi there, I’m Laura – a long-term fan of practicing Pilates and the great physical and mental benefits it has brought me.  After having two children, I realised just how instrumental Pilates based movement is in helping the body recover after pregnancy and birth, so I became a STOTT certified mat Pilates instructor, which further highlighted the enormous benefit Pilates can have – for everyone!

I am passionate and dedicated to helping you rebuild your connection with – and restore your belief in – your body, build strength, and achieve overall well-being whilst promoting body positivity – I will never be part of the ‘drop a dress size’ or ‘beach body ready’ brigade.  Instead, I offer a judgement free, welcoming and supportive space for clients to focus on themselves, to feel seen, heard and respected, all whilst having a little bit of fun too!

“Pilates has never been about chasing a particular body aesthetic for me, it has always been about how great it makes my body and mind feel – and it is precisely that which has kept me coming back to it – and fuelled by passion to become an instructor!”

“I started Pilates with Laura in order to help with my horse riding for balance and core strength.  I have been attending sessions most weeks for around a year now and can honestly say I have noticed a real change in that I am more aware of my body and balance and am more able to balance with the horse. I have had a niggling, sharp back pain if I do a certain movement for a number of years that I haven’t been able to get to the bottom of with physio alone. Although I am aware of it still, it is notably better. My arms are definitely more toned too!

I also really enjoy just getting away from it all, I find the session really clears my mind after a long day at work and I walk away feeling refreshed”

“The main reason I started pilates was to improve my strength and balance.  My core strength and balance have improved and the exercises I used to find difficult in the early days are now so much easier. Laura makes the sessions fun but at the same time getting us all to work our bodies. Laura is extremely patient and explains new exercises very clearly.  The stress and worries of the day disappear during a session. Finally it’s lovely to be part of such a friendly group.”

“Laura’s classes are brilliant.  Her professional and supportive manner puts everyone at ease and she’s great at giving tailored advice when you need it.  I get so much out of every class, not least the opportunity to properly unwind once a week, but I’ve also seen improvements in my core strength, posture and back.  I cannot recommend Laura’s classes highly enough!”
